State and federal regulatory compliance for commercial, Medicaid and Medicare managed health insurers.

 

Professional Experience

Maryalice Khan has had a varied legal career, during law school she clerked for Jane Shade, Deputy District Attorney, at the Orange County Superior Court, Santa Ana CA.  Shade prosecuted domestic violence crimes, sex crimes and stalking crimes. Khan conducted research and compiled medical article summaries and photos for use during trial and prosecution of domestic violence, and sex crimes cases.  The following summer while entering the third year of law school, Khan clerked for the Anaheim City Attorney’s office in the City planning and zoning department where she worked on issues pertaining to zoning.  Khan currently works for Anthem Blue Cross as a Senior Regulatory Compliance Adherence Consultant.  In this role Khan conducts regulatory compliance oversight for state, and federal regulations and national accrediting standards applicable to managed care health insurers.  She has over 15 year’s health insurance regulatory compliance experience.  Khan has expertly compiled summaries of testimony, evidence, and medical record documentation for use in workers compensation appeal cases.  As an avid health law enthusiast, Khan proposed the creation of a new health law section and subsequently co-founded the Orange County Bar Association Health Law Section.

 

Khan received a law degree from Chapman University in Orange CA, and a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Phoenix in Arizona.  

Khan is certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), she is a member of the American Association of Health Lawyers (AHLA), the American Bar Association (ABA), and the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA).
